# 4.7 - RWA Issuance, Lifecycle & DvP Settlement

Real-world assets are represented on Polarischain as **Compliance-Bound Asset Registry Entries (CBAREs)**. Each entry contains asset identifiers, legal descriptions, issuer/jurisdiction metadata, embedded transfer rules, compliance oracle attestation hashes, and custodian signatures.

**Issuance Workflow**

1. **Legal Structuring:** Issuer finalizes off-chain legal framework (SPV, trust, or custodial agreement).
2. **Compliance Verification:** Accredited oracle validates KYC/AML status and jurisdictional eligibility.
3. **Native Registration:** Issuer submits CBARE transaction. Validators verify signatures, compliance hashes, and policy constraints.
4. **Active Registry:** Asset becomes transferable under protocol-enforced rules. All subsequent transfers inherit the same compliance envelope.

**Delivery vs. Payment (DvP) Settlement**

Polarischain enables atomic **DvP settlement** within a single consensus wave. Both the asset transfer and corresponding payment are packaged as linked transactions, referenced to a common parent vertex, and finalized simultaneously upon quorum certification.

* **Counterparty Risk Elimination:** Neither leg settles unless both pass compliance, balance, and signature validation.
* **Deterministic Finality:** Sub-second BFT finality applies to both legs; no probabilistic confirmations.
* **Multi-Asset Routing:** Supports native `$POL`, tokenized fiat, or other registered RWAs within the same DvP envelope.

This architecture mirrors institutional payment-versus-delivery systems used in traditional securities settlement, but operates on a public, cryptographically verifiable ledger with quantum-resistant authentication.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://polarischain-1.gitbook.io/polarischain/4.-cryptographic-foundations-and-compliance-framework/4.7-rwa-issuance-lifecycle-and-dvp-settlement.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
