# 8.3 - Peer Health & Network Telemetry

The P2P service continuously monitors committee connectivity and message flow:

* **Connection State Tracking:** Active, disconnected, or administratively banned
* **Latency Measurement:** Round-trip time sampling for consensus gossip optimization
* **Throughput Accounting:** Blocks received, transaction relay rates, envelope validation success/failure ratios
* **Quorum-Loss Detection:** A consecutive-quorum-loss counter suppresses alarm flooding during transient network churn while escalating sustained quorum erosion immediately
* **Stale Peer Cleanup:** Automated pruning of unresponsive or degraded connections to maintain optimal mesh topology
